Exciting news for PAWS-PATAS future
Exciting news for PAWS-PATAS future Today marks a hugely important milestone for us. Our President, Babs Williams, and our Secretary, Sue Smith, have officially signed the Escritura for the land adjacent to the PAWS-PATAS Shelter. This is the first rung on the ladder towards realising our long-held dream of creating a modern, purpose-built facility — one that will allow us to care for animals to the very highest possible standards. We are incredibly grateful to our amazing supporters and volunteers who continue to stand beside us on this journey. Without your dedication, generosity and belief in our mission, none of this would be possible. Thank you for helping PAWS-PATAS turn a dream into reality.

Fourteen cats arrive safely in France 🇫🇷
Fourteen cats arrive safely in France 🇫🇷 After a long wait, fourteen of our cats finally made their journey to our homing partner SPA de Pontarlier in France last Thursday, 30th October. Their departure had originally been planned for mid-September, but the trip had to be postponed following a Giardia outbreak in the cattery — a frustrating setback for everyone involved. Thankfully, after weeks of treatment, deep cleaning, and all-clear test results, the cats were ready to travel once again. We’re delighted to confirm they’ve arrived safely and are settling in well at SPA de Pontarlier, where they’re already available for adoption into loving new homes. Transports like this take an incredible amount of teamwork, coordination, and “Papaleo” between our volunteers, homing partners, and transporters. Every successful journey means more space here at PAWS-PATAS to help the next cats in need — and more happy endings for those who’ve waited patiently for their chance. A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in making this transport possible — from the volunteers who prepared the cats, to the drivers, vets, and our dedicated colleagues in France. Special thanks to Agnes #agnes.borgnanagrin and Antoinette and Bo from #AnimalHotel.es for all your help. Safe and settled, little ones — the next chapter of your adventure begins! 💕🐱

Visit from Jersey Island
On Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, we had the pleasure of welcoming Rebecca from The Company of Dogs in Jersey, along with her colleagues Anna and Lucia. Also joining them was Antoinette from Animal Hotel in Águilas, who plays a vital role in managing the paperwork and transportation of both cats and dogs to Jersey. The visit was a great success, and we are hopeful that The Company of Dogs will become one of our regular homing partners, allowing us to give some of our animals the chance to find new homes on the beautiful Channel Island of Jersey.

Celebrity shelter visit
On Friday 9 January we received a visit from Michel Vandenbosch and Loes Van den Heuvel. Michel is the Chairman and co-founder of GAIA (Global Action in the Interest of Animals) which is the most influential and one of the best-known animal rights organisations in Belgium. Loes is a Flemish actress, singer and household name in Belgium. She is best known for her role as the inquisitive Carmen in the long-running sitcom F.C. De Kampioenen, which she played for 21 years. We believe that animals should also be treated with respect and have the right to a dignified existence. We advocate a relationship between humans and animals that is characterised by humanity and justice.

Daisy & her babies need new homes!
Daisy was someone’s pet, and gave birth whilst living with them. But they couldn’t keep her and her kittens. Daisy is the mum, Minnie is the little white kitten and Donny the tabby boy Daisy is so very affectionate, doesn’t want us to stop cuddling her, sits on our laps and nuzzles our necks. She’s a good mum and the kittens are doing well too! As soon as the kittens are old enough to leave mum, we need to find new homes for them all! Please email cats@paws-patas.org
