Resignation of Babs Williams
We regret to announce that Babs Williams has stepped down from her role as President of PAWS-PATAS.
Babs assumed the presidency following the passing of Richard Brotherston-Barnett and has since worked tirelessly to strengthen the organisation. During her tenure,
she successfully oversaw the registration of the shelter land in the name of PAWS-PATAS and ensured that all buildings were fully legalised. She also played a key role
in the purchase of the parcel of land adjacent to the shelter at the beginning of 2026. This important acquisition will enable the development of segregated exercise areas
for dogs, including a paddock for enrichment and training, as well as the construction of a quarantine unit for dogs, a new cattery with a dedicated quarantine block, and in
time, a new, improved area for visiting international volunteers.
The Executive Team has decided to take the necessary time to identify the right candidate before proposing a new President to the Members—someone with corporate experience and strong strategic vision. In the interim, a “President in Function” has been appointed to ensure the continued smooth operation of the Association and the signing of all required legal documents.
We extend our sincere thanks to Babs for her dedication, leadership, and significant
contributions to PAWS-PATAS.
